Marukan Gourmet Vinegar Review & Giveaway

I consider myself, shall we say, very versatile in the kitchen. On any given evening, I'll be cooking American, Southern favorites, hearty Italian, spicy Mexican, and numerous decadent sweets. However, one of the cuisine's I haven't really had much experience with is Asian foods. There's just flavors there that I hadn't quite been able to duplicate! So, that being said, I was super excited to get the chance to do a review on a set of Marukan Gourmet Vinegar's! They sent me a very lovely set of 3 different flavors to play with! Included was the Marukan Genuine Brewed Rice Vinegar, Marukan Seasoned Gourmet Rice Vinegar and the Marukan All Natural PONZU - Premium Soy Dressing with Sudachi Citrus.
Now, before I go further, let me tell you a little about each of these. =)

~ The Marukan Genuine Brewed Rice Vinegar - It's completely all natural, made from Californian grown rice, sodium free, and sugar free! It can be used as a flavor enhancer in the place of salt for meat and vegetable dishes and can also be substituted for white wine or cider vinegar in recipes! So, it has many, many uses!

~ The Marukan Seasoned Gourmet Rice Vinegar - It's all natural, contains no MSG and has a very sweet and tangy flavor. You would use this to heighten flavor in marinades (think Sweet & Sour Chicken!), stir fries, and sushi.

~  Marukan All Natural PONZU - Premium Soy Dressing with Sudachi Citrus - Like the others, it's all natural, 100% Vegan and a great alternative to soy sauce! It tastes basically like a tangier version of Soy Sauce... You will love it!

Once I received my set in, I went right to the recipe section of their site to see what they recommended. They had so many suggestions for the budding Asian cook.. it was hard to choose one! All of these vinegar's are so adaptable! I finally found one I wanted to play with. I chose the Sesame Beef Skewers, but instead of serving it on skewers, I wanted to serve it up on rice.
So, I got a large top round steak and cut it into thin strips. Made up a marinade using 1 TBS of Kikkoman soy sauce, 4 TBS of Marukan All Natural PONZU - Premium Soy Dressing with Sudachi Citrus, 2 tsp of sesame seeds (it called for toasted... mine weren't.. I figured they could toast in the pan during cooking... hehe) 1/4 tsp of black pepper, and 1/8 tsp of garlic powder. I let it set for about 30 minutes. If you want a stronger flavor, let it set longer. I wish I had! =) After everything finished marinating, I cooked the steak in a pan on high heat until no longer pink. It was so tender, moist, and had wonderful flavoring! In a separate pan, I fried about 3 cups of cooked brown rice with 3 scrambled eggs, 1/2 can of English sweet peas, and generous amounts of drizzles of Marukan All Natural PONZU - Premium Soy Dressing with Sudachi Citrus. Once done, I mixed the rice mixture with the steak! And let me tell you, it was out of this world! I have to admit, it was just as good (if not better!) than the steak and rice from the local take out place!
