Retro General Mills Cereals Review

I recently was sent 5 boxes of cereals to check out as part of the new Target Big G New Flavors Campaign through Platefull Co-Op and General Mills!

Do you see something familiar? Something look a little off about the cereal boxes? They went retro! General Mills is taking you back to the year that each of these cereals began.

Cheerios ~ 1945
Lucky Charms ~ 1964
Honey Nut Cheerios ~ 1979
Cinnamon Toast Crunch ~ 1984
Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs ~ 1994

The backs of the boxes give each of the premier dates and offers you a little information about the cereal through the years. Like on the back of Honey Nut Cheerios you can see how the bee has evolved in the last 30ish years!
My first reaction when I opened up my box? I picked up the Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs and was like ummm this isn't old. Turned it around and my jaw dropped cause I realized that it was 20 years old. And then of course realized how old I really am and we don't have to go there =D I loved reading the information about some of my favorite cereals and the only thing that would have made these better (or cereal better right now) is to bring back the toys! That used to be some of the best part of breakfast in the morning was eating it to see who was going to get the toy!

Do you have any favorites here? What do you think about the retro boxes? Don't forget to swing by Target because that's the only place you'll be able to score your Retro General Mills Cereals!
