Jellyfish In A Bottle Kid's Craft

Our Make-It Monday craft for the week is Jellyfish In A Bottle! These are really fun to make and the kids have fun playing with them for hours afterwards!

Supplies that you'll need ~

Clear plastic bags
String/Thread
Bottles
Scissors
Water
Blue Food Coloring

First you are going to pinch the middle of the bag and tie (loosely) a piece of thread around where the head of the jellyfish would be.

Using the scissors cut strips where his tentacles would be. You can experiment making them big or little (the little strips will make the jellyfish have more movement in the bottle tho) and make them different sizes as well!

Once all of his tentacles are finished add a little water to the pocket where you left his head. Make sure once you have some water inside to blow in or leave room for some air because he'll need it to be able to float and move inside of the bottle.

Add your water into the bottle and add your blue food coloring.

Push your jellyfish inside and put the lid back onto your bottle. Flip your bottle and watch him float up to the top! Flip it back over and he'll do it again! If you find that he doesn't float then you'll need to get it back out and add more air into his head.

The kids had a lot of fun with this as we experimented with different sizes of the jellyfish and even different bottles (A big 2 liter bottle was the best for us but I seen other pictures online of people who had used water bottles.)
