2015 Tax Free Shopping Dates for Back to School

Our kids still have a few more days of school but for many people they are already thinking about Back to School time! Here is a list of the Tax Free Shopping which is a great time to get shopping done! If any other states announce their we'll try to get it added to the list. I know NY usually does theirs in August too! 

Alabama: August 7 – 9
clothing, computers, school supplies, books

Arkansas: August 1 – 2
clothing and school supplies

Connecticut: August 16 – 22
clothing and footwear

Florida: Aug. 7 – Aug. 16.
clothing, footwear, wallets, and bags that costs $100 or less, school supplies that cost $15 or less, and the first $750 of the cost of personal computers and related accessories.

Georgia: July 31 – Aug 1
clothing, computers, school supplies

Iowa: August 7 – 8
clothing

Louisiana: August 7 – 8
All consumer purchases of tangible personal property, other than vehicles subject to license and title and meals including to-go orders. The holiday applies only to the 4 percent state sales tax. It does not apply to sales taxes levied by parishes, municipalities, school boards, and other political subdivisions of the state. (from Louisiana Department of Revenue)

Virginia: August 7 – 9
school supplies and clothing. Energy Star and WaterSense products; Hurricane and emergency preparedness equipment.
