Do you look forward to Valentine's Day? Not having a Valentine I can honestly take it or leave it. I normally get my daughter a new stuffed animal and some chocolates. Sometimes I'll get some flowers for us to enjoy. But mostly I enjoy hitting up the drug stores for cheap candy the next day!

ReplyDeletehaha, the only thing I remember of Valentine's day is mom giving us chocolates when we were kids. We couldn't wait for those boxes of chocolate.

ReplyDeleteI remember my dad always gave me and my sisters a box of chocolates each on Valentine's Day. It meant so much to me and I looked forward to it every year!

One time on Valentine's Day, my Mom gave me a really nice heart necklace with our picture in it! I love it so much today because my Mom is no longer with me, she is in heaven, and I wear this necklace every day!

ReplyDeleteI love the French Mints they have a lot on Valentine's. Don't really do much on Valentine's. I used to get the kids extra of those cheap valentine cards and put goofy or cartoon character names on them and hid them around the house.

ReplyDeleteWe are planning a valentine's day party and I am so excited. We have all sorts of crafts for the kids, and lots of yummy recipes to prepare. We don't do presents, but will do a lot of chocolate :) Which is better than "stuff" ;)

I remember third grade when I was really sick and couldn't go to school on Valentine's Day-I was so sad! At the time I was devastated, but now it makes me laugh!

ReplyDeleteEvery year when I was a kid we made Valentine's for all our family members. My oldest child has been following the tradition for a couple years and this year the baby can too!
ReplyDeleteA few years ago my husband had a very special necklace "reforged" for me. He had given it to me for our first Valentine's Day when we were just teenagers and it had broken from repeated baby pulls. I cried when I saw it fixed and good as new :)

ReplyDeleteI remember in elementary school all the kids giving out valentines to classmates. It was great because even the unpopular kids could feel like others care about them and be included. Not sure if that is still done in schools today.

ReplyDeleteLast Valentine's Day was the first big Valentine's celebration I have ever had. My husband surprised me with a jewelry set, sapphires and diamonds and bought me a dress to take me out to Olive Garden for dinner, AND he arranged for my nana to babysit our daughter. Still impressed. This Valentine's Day will be much more low key, but that was one to remember.

ReplyDeleteMy best Valentine's Day memory is from 13 years ago. I was at Universal Orlando with my boyfriend for the weekend. We had only been dating a short time, but it was one of those whirlwind romances. Anyway, we were walking around the lagoon even though it was raining and suddenly he dropped to one knee and proposed! I was so shocked it took me almost a minute to answer, but we have been married 12 years now so it all worked out.
